Walking & Hiking
IN THE PEAK DISTRICT
We are situated in the heart of the Peak District – a walkers paradise. Britain’s most visited National Park offers a spectacular variety of scenery & routes to be explored – from steep sided limestone dales to dramatic high moorlands. There is something for everyone. Individuals, families & groups – whether you are after a challenging hike or short stroll.
You can follow the many local trails or simply take advantage of 524 square kms of open access land. For experienced hikers, the long distance 431 km Pennine Way starts from nearby Edale, whilst the popular peaks of Kinder Scout, Bleaklow, along with Stanage & Bamford Edges are on the doorstep. For something slightly more manageable, why not try the fabulous walk through Padley Gorge & along the Derwent. These walks are featured on our walks map that can be downloaded here or collected from reception & start & finish here at The Millstone.
Please note that stout footwear is required for all.
